Recycling Program

In February 2013, the City of Cleveland began its recycling program. Drop-off locations include 219 North Bayou Road across from Atmos Energy that is accessible 24-hours a day and 1098 Old Highway 61 North (public works south gate) that is accessible Monday through Friday from 7 am until 4 pm except for holidays.

What We Can Recycle

  • Aluminum Cans: Aluminum soda or beer cans
  • Mixed Paper:
    • Catalogs
    • Cereal Boxes
    • Copy Paper
    • Corrugated Cardboard
    • Envelopes
    • Junk Mail
    • Magazines
    • Newspaper
    • Notebook Paper
    • Paper Towel and Toilet Paper Tubes
    • Paperback and Hardback Books
    • Paperboard Packages
    • Printer Paper
    • Shoe Boxes
    • Shredded Paper
    • Telephone Books
  • Plastic Bags: Plastic Shopping Bags and Plastic Wrap
  • Plastic Bottles:
    • Any plastic that is designated with the recycling symbol "1" or "2" on the bottom of the plastic container
    • Detergent Bottles
    • Number 1 PETE and Number 2 HDPE Plastics such as Clorox Bottles
    • Plastic Milk Jugs
    • Plastic Soda Bottles
    • Plastic Water Bottles
    • Shampoo Bottles
  • Steel Cans: Pet Food Cans, Soup Cans, Vegetable Cans, and other similar food cans
